In September of this year, Trumbull Family Fitness, formerly known as The YMCA of Warren, made the announcement that a definitive partnership had been formed between themselves and Valley Properties Investments, LLC for the purpose of developing multi-use spaces within their building. This partnership was a result of of a consistent effort by Trumbull Family Fitness to find a like-minded partner willing to update the property and increase its economic relevance for their mutual benefit. The partnership between the two entities remains strong and a firm contractual agreement has been entered into by both parties. However, Trumbull Family Fitness is announcing that effective as of the end of today it will suspend daily operations.

 

“We hoped to remain open for our members as long as possible during renovations, however we’ve determined it is in the best interest of our long term aspirations to close during this process. It is simply a matter of fiscal prudence. Continuing to use funds for essential purchases that would soon be rendered moot is not fiscally sensible.” stated Thompson, TFF Board Chair. He sited one prominent example being their current need for a new boiler, which would serve no purpose in the upcoming infrastructure yet cost upwards of $30,000.

 

“While this was a difficult decision, it is a short term sacrifice for a long term benefit. We are confident our members will understand that this is not an ending, but a new beginning” stated Thompson. All current employees of TFF, as well as their members have been notified of the alternative plan.
